Women’s suffrage activist Carrie Chapman Catt (1859-1947) did not rest on her laurels after the successful passage of the 19th Amendment. In 1933, Catt organized the Protest Committee of Non-Jewish Women Against the Persecution of Jews in Germany, which sent a letter to Adolf Hitler decrying acts of violence and restrictive laws against German Jews.
