Author, illustrator and conservationist Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) is renowned for THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT and more than 20 other children’s stories featuring anthropomorphized animals and gentle watercolors of the British country landscape. Her literary success enabled her to purchase multiple farms in order to safeguard that landscape, and she is credited with preserving much of what is now the Lake District National Park.
